"The welfare of the family is decisive for the future of the world and that of the Church." - Amoris Lcetitia, 31

I have grown tremendously in my understanding and admiration of the learning curve many young families must make. New mothers learning how to discern the differences in the cries of her children. Fathers growing in their care for the physical needs of their child that go well beyond changing their baby's diaper. Siblings who are still babies themselves learning how to hold their younger brother and sister for the first time. Then there are my friends and other young couples who cannot conceive a child. My heart has broken, my prayers have increased, my love has out poured for those called to accept this very difficult cross and grace. Furthermore, we all know and have seen, especially here at Holy Rosary, the impact just one new family can have on a community. We - no matter our state in life - can learn from all these families the fruits of the Holy Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. They truly are witness to us all. For we see an image of our Blessed Mother Mary in that mother consoling her crying child. We recognize St. Joseph in that father who is lining up his children at the communion rail. We admire that couple who give birth to so many blessings in our community. All these family lessons are decisive for our parish to become a church family. Therefore, "may the Lord give you increase, you and your children!" - Ps 115:14
