This is the last time I write these SUNDAY REFLECTIONS. After seven or eight years of writing them, I have found myself repeating many of the same ideas, sentences, images, again and again and sometimes the well just runs dry.
If I ask you today a big question, how or what will be the answer? Now here goes the question: WHO ARE THE ANAWIM IN THE BIBLE? Have you come up with the answer? And if so, what kind of an answer? Is it the right one?
On this Sunday as well as in the next, the praying assembly will be in the company of the Prophet Amos. Amos is one of those reluctant prophets who are inspired and called to be the voice of Yawheh to the people of Israel in the VII Century before the coming of Jesus.
We are in election times and polls keep surfacing about personalities, issues, campaigns. And people see the numbers and sometimes spin the numbers to their own advantage. Pollsters have been doing that for a long time, especially in political circles, or presidential elections.
