Dear Parishioners & Visitors,
Earthquakes in Japan & Ecuador, flooding in Houston and surrounding counties, and other natural disasters pull us more deeply into our Christian longing in love to pratice the corporal works of mercy. On the weekend of May 14-15 we will have a second collection specifically for people whose homes have been damaged by recent flooding in Houston who are uninsured.
First Holy Communion for our younger faithful will take place at the 11:00 a.m. Eucharist on Sunday, May 1, and at the 3:15 p.m. Eucharist on Sunday, May 15. Please keep our First Communicants and their families in prayers of gratitude. Also on May 1, our annual Gala event will take place at the Houstonian beginning at 6:30 p.m. We give thanks for all who have worked during this past year to bring these events to joyful fruition.
In our painting featured below, we can notice the prominence of The Lamb of God, The One who has overcome death and did away with original sin by virtue of our baptism into Christ Jesus, Lamb of God. “The One Who sat on the throne said, ‘Behold, I make all things new.'” —Revelation 21:5a
In The Lamb’s loving kindness,
—fr. Chris, O.P.
