HRP Since 1913

Holy Rosary Parish was founded by the Dominican Friars in 1913 when they were invited by Bishop Nicholas A. Gallagher to serve the needs of 125 families living in what was then Houston’s south side. At the time, the city had only 82,000 citizens. As soon as the parish was established, work began on a two-story building on land donated by William H. McCarthy.

Our Mission Statement

We, Holy Rosary Church, established in 1913, are led by the Dominican Friars and are dedicated to Our Lady’s honor. Coming from different backgrounds and from across the area, we gather to worship and glorify God with the reverent celebration of the Mass, the sacraments, and the venerable traditions of our Catholic faith. Faithful to the Magisterium and our love of God and neighbor, we strive to live and spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We gratefully return to God all that He has given us by using our gifts and talents to build up His Church, support our parish family, and welcome all who yearn for Christ.

Sứ Mệnh Giáo Xứ

Chúng tôi, thuộc giáo xứ Holy Rosary, được thành lập từ năm 1913 do các cha Dòng Đaminh phụ trách và đã được thánh hiến lên Đức Mẹ Maria. Từ những sắc dân khác nhau, chúng tôi tụ họp nơi đây để thờ phượng Chúa qua việc cử hành Phụng vụ, lãnh nhận các Bí tích và tuân giữ truyền thống đức tin Công giáo. Qua việc mến Chúa, yêu người và trung thành với giáo quyền, chúng tôi chú tâm đến sống đời sống đức tin và loan truyền Tin Mừng của Chúa Giêsu Kitô. Với tâm tình cảm tạ, chúng tôi xin dâng lên Chúa tất cả những gì Ngài ban qua việc sử dụng mọi ân sủng và khả năng để cùng xây dựng Hội Thánh Chúa, nâng đỡ lẫn nhau và ân cần đón tiếp tất cả những ai thao thức đến với Chúa Kitô.
